$3,127/post card-size plot of land

A plot of land the size of a post card in Tokyo's Ginza goes for $3,127.

A plot of land just big enough to stand on (one square foot) goes for  $19,658.

Big enough for a house? (Nobody would put a house in this part of Tokyo) but… a reasonable piece of land (100 square meters) – $21.15 million! Just for the land.

For 22 years running, the top spot is an area just in front of the Kyukyodo Stationery store.kyukyodo.jpg

"See that post card you dropped? It's taking up $3000 worth of land space, dude."

Still, I remember when land prices were nearly double this

back in the 80s.

It's a good time for prices to go up IF you are selling (I am) and IF you are selling in Tokyo. (My land is in earthquake-prone Niigata.)

How much is land where you live?
